Award process

Learn more about the entire award process from notification to receiving award monies.

Depending on your child’s education level, the award process would take place at different times of the year. Students in special education (SPED) schools will receive details from their school. The award ceremony will be conducted by the school.

KEY STAGES

1. Receive notification letter from MOE

Edusave award recipients will receive a notification letter from MOE with details about their award.

The key periods are:

  • ITE (January intake): By mid-April each year
  • ITE (April intake): By mid-September each year
  • Polytechnics: By mid-September each year
  • Primary schools, secondary schools, specialised schools, junior colleges and Millennia Institute: By mid-December each year

2. Receive invitation to attend award ceremony by Constituency Office (CO)

Award recipients will receive an invitation letter from their CO with details of the award ceremony.

The key periods are:

  • ITE (January intake): May to June each year
  • ITE (April intake): November to December each year
  • Polytechnics: November to December each year
  • Primary schools, secondary schools, specialised schools, junior colleges and Millennia Institute: January to March each year

If your child did not receive the award ceremony invitation letter, or are unable to attend, check with the CO how to collect the certificate and receive the award monies.

3. Check or set up PayNow (NRIC) for your child

Award monies are paid out through PayNow (NRIC) after the award ceremony. Award recipients should set theirs up before attending the ceremony to be able to receive the award monies in a prompt manner. If PayNow (NRIC) is not set up, it will take longer to process and credit the award monies to their bank account.

Note: Award money will not be credited into a parent's personal bank account or given in cash, or if the PayNow registration is done using a mobile number or a parent’s NRIC number.

4. Attend award ceremony

Check your ceremony details and attend accordingly. You will receive your certificate at the ceremony.

5. Receive award monies

Award recipients will receive the award monies through their PayNow (NRIC) within 1 week from the time we receive the attendance list from the CO after the ceremony.

If your child missed the award ceremony

They will receive the payout via PayNow-NRIC by the following dates:

  • ITE (January intake): Thursday, 9 July 2026
  • ITE (April intake): Friday, 2 January 2026
  • Polytechnics: Friday, 2 January 2026
  • Primary schools, secondary schools, specialised schools, junior colleges and Millennia Institute: Thursday, 19 March 2026

If your child's PayNow payout was unsuccessful or they do not have PayNow

We will contact you to submit your child's bank details through an online form.

Once we receive your child's bank details, the award money will be deposited into your child's account within 2 weeks, but no later than:

  • ITE (January intake): End-August each year
  • ITE (April intake): End-January each year
  • Polytechnics: End-January each year
  • Primary schools, secondary schools, specialised schools, junior colleges and Millennia Institute: End-April each year

You will receive a confirmation letter by post once the award money has been successfully credited.
